Everything’s coming up roses

Early next week, about 20 classic-car drivers will be departing from Route 66 in Tucumcari, N.M., and head for the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif., reports the Quay County Sun of Tucumcari. The caravan will also make stops at the Route 66 towns of Santa Rosa, Moriarty, Gallup and Grants.
The event is led by the New Mexico Tourism Department and Expo New Mexico, which will be plugging the Route 66 gathering in Albuquerque in June 2006 and other attractions, said Expo New Mexico’s Kathy Duffy.
