Wonderful! This is one of the best versions of Route 66 I’ve seen in a long time!!
We attended the inaugural Highway of Dreams car show in 2005, and found it to be extremely well organized, and an event that was definitely on it’s way to greater things. That 1st. year saw the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to George Barris by the original Daisy Duke, Catherine Bach. The car show awards were presented by Donna Mills, from the nighttime TV soap, Knots Landing. Master of Ceremonies, George Gray, host of Junkyard Wars and The Weakest Link, kept the crowd entertained. Obviously, the City of West Hollywood saw the value of the event to the community, jumping in as a major participant in 2006, by allowing the event to take place on a closed off portion of Santa Monica Boulevard.
