Musical TV series to be shot on Route 66

Greene HD Productions is taking to the Mother Road next month to shoot a 13-episode television series called “Rhythms of the Road.”

From the news release:

Combining the successful Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue series aired during the past two years on the RFD TV cable network and Greene’s work on the award-winning Route 66 Marathon Tour DVD, Rhythms of the Road promises a new look at the rebirth of the Mother Road and the resurgence of old time country music. “We will explore the old road along with the lasting and fabulous music it helped to create,” explained John Sharp, a 50’s music impresario and one of Rhythms’ lead singers.

Country Music Revue’s Male Vocalist of the Year, Wayne Reed promised, “Rock ‘n Roll, country, and even a little jazz and swing mixed in. We will combine history, folklore, food, and music in a way never seen before on television.”

Here’s the schedule and locations for the shows:

  1. This is awesome! I can’t wait to be a part of this wonderful project. We need this type of show on TV and I will do whatever to support my friend John Sharp. I hope to see you all in St. Louis

  2. My husband & I are too of John’s fans starting in the early 80’s. It will be a great road show. Ed, I mean, Gary, is always ready if you need him, Johnnie!

  3. It was a chance meeting, but we ended up in Winslow AZ on my birthday, Oct 15, 2008. We had friends that wanted to see the mural on the corner Winslow, AZ. Rhythms of the Road was setting up for their final show and we decided to stay around and watch the taping. Not only did we stay around for the first taping, we stayed for the second one too. We were on vacation and staying in Sedona.
This is such a special memory, and we could not believe the quality and professionalism of this performance. We met alot of nice people, some wonderful musicians and artists and look forward to seeing the final production on TV. We have told all our friends and look forward to the show. What a great birthday and moment in time!!
