TV crews from Britain, Korea visit Rock Cafe

It’s unusual enough for a foreign television crew to show up at the Rock Cafe.

However, it’s especially unusual for two foreign television crews to appear at the historic Route 66 landmark in Stroud, Okla. And it happened on Tuesday evening.

The South Korean film crew gives instructions to Grina Park and several Rock Cafe customers.

One crew was from the Seoul Broadcasting System in South Korea. They’d been on the Mother Road five days with Korean actress Greena Park.

Park chatted with the locals and helped serve hamburgers to customers.

A producer said the crew was filming 10 eight-minute segments on Route 66 for SBS’ “Morningwide” show, which are expected to air in early June.

Rock Cafe owner Dawn Welch chats with the director of the British reality TV series.

Also, a British crew was doing preproduction work on a reality television series that will air later this summer in the United Kingdom.

Shooting will begin in a matter of days; the Rock Cafe and its employees will play a major role.

Details about the show are embargoed, but they will be released soon.

  1. I had similar chaos yesterday at Afton Station. While the Korean crew was filming there, we also had the partners from Cimarron Productions of Oklahoma City come in to take some final shots for a tourism video they are producing. Crazy busy but fun!
