Route 66 Corridor Preservation Program announces 10 grants

The Route 66 Corridor Preservation Program announced 10 cost-share grants totaling more than $103,000 to Route 66 businesses, according to a news release today from the program. Matriarch of Joe & Aggie’s restaurant dies

Alice Gallegos, daughter of the founders of the historic Joe & Aggie's Cafe in Holbrook, Ariz., and a longtime co-operator of the Route 66 restaurant herself, died at age 72 on Tuesday in nearby Show Low, Ariz., according to an obituary by the funeral home.
