A different kind of time-lapse trip

Shaun Callahan recently took a trip from Baltimore to Santa Monica, Calif., much of it on Route 66. This clip shows the trip in a time-lapse mode, but with a twist — he periodically superimposes images of landmarks from the Mother Road.

  1. Ohio has tool booths???!!!

Great video. This guy is good. I like that he included Tinkertown. It’s not often listed as a Route 66 attraction but probably should be. Closer than the Grand Canyon. Older than Pops.

And Oklohoma is close enough for me.

  2. Great work. I would love to see a moving map superimposed over the bottom of the image.

  3. The video is well done and it’s a pleasure to watch a father and son having such an adventure. However, there’s a mistake, made twice. I don’t subscribe to Vimeo, Ron, so perhaps you could get word to Shaun that a bit of editing is needed ASAP before more people see that both times he labeled Oklahoma, he misspelled it (Oklohoma).
