A chat with the Bagdad Cafe’s owner

A host for an Irish travel site, Travelbiz.ie, sat down for an interview with Andrea Pruett, owner of the Bagdad Cafe in Newberry Springs, Calif.

The Route 66 restaurant enjoyed the extreme good fortune of being the setting for the 1987 German film “Bagdad Cafe.” Since then, it’s been a destination for many European travelers who’ve seen the film.

  1. Glad you mentioned “Bagdad Cafe”, Ron. It was shown in the US in art houses way back when, at least, that’s where I saw it here in Tulsa. I’ve got an old VHS tape of the it and now that I’m thinking about it, need to watch it again. Hope it’s still playable.
