Wayne Freedman, a reporter for KGO-TV in San Francisco, on Wednesday tweeted about these two videos from 1992 about Route 66.
The first video prominently features Angel “The Angel of Route 66” Delgadillo.
The second video from the same time period spotlights the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, Ariz.
Remember, these videos were shot before Michael Wallis’ best-selling “Route 66: The Mother Road” was published. The renaissance of Route 66 hadn’t even started in earnest.
UPDATE: I’ve been informed that the inferred publication date for “Route 66: The Mother Road,” which I got from Amazon.com, is incorrect. The book was published in 1990.
