Blue Whale Blues

What did Jonah do to pass the time after he was swallowed by a whale?

The written record says he did a lot of praying — understandable, given the circumstances. But maybe he also did what Welsh music artist Jon Langford did — play a song. In this case, Langford performs “Death to Moby Dick” inside the historic Blue Whale along Route 66 in Catoosa, Okla.

Langford sat on the porthole of the whale where kids used to slide down into the pond. The pond no longer is a swimming hole, but fishing is allowed.

Langford was a part of the Tin Can Caravan that noted singer / songwriter Fred Eaglesmith led down Route 66 a few weeks ago.

Incidentally, Audrey Auld uploaded the video of Langford performing. Auld also was one of the performers during the Route 66 tour.
