Here’s another vintage performance of “Route 66” by western-swing band Asleep At the Wheel. This one was during Farm Aid 1993 in Ames, Iowa.
Asleep At the Wheel perform “Route 66” at every show for two reasons — it makes a good warm-up, and bandleader Ray Benson loves the tune. Asleep At the Wheel also has embarked on a couple of Route 66 tours as well.
