Dying dog taken on a big road trip

One of my favorite milestones from #pohthedogsbigadventure with @djneilarmstrong and @goumada. Getting to the end of Route 66, signifying that we made it all the across the country. This was already almost 2 months ago… And the trip we took started 10 weeks ago now. When my parents found out I was sick, it seemed like my ailments meant that I could go at any moment. But instead of just waiting at home, they brought me on this great adventure, and I think it brought me even more life, lifted up my spirits even more, so my body had no choice but to follow. We all have to live life to the fullest! Thank u mom and dad for not giving up 🐶 #tbt #throwbackthursday #dog #cute #eyes #instagood #dogs_of_instagram #pet #pets #animal #animals #petstagram #petsagram #dogsitting #dogsofinstagram #ilovemydog #instagramdogs #nature #dogstagram #dogoftheday #lovedogs #lovepuppies #hound #adorable #doglover #instapuppy #instadog

One story that’s gone viral in recent days is about Poh, a terminally ill dog who’s been taken by his owner in a 12,000-mile road trip across various places in the United States.

Poh is owned by Thomas Neil Rodriguez, who’s better known as music artist DJ Neil Armstrong. After the diagnosis of inoperable cancer in the 15-year-old dog’s abdomen, Rodriguez and his fiancee decided to take Poh on a “bucket list” of destinations such as Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., New York and California.

Rodriguez said he wasn’t sure Poh would last two weeks, but the canine lasted seven — until his condition deteriorated to the point where he decided to keep him at home.

It stands to reason that Poh would have visited a few Route 66 landmarks during his travels. And indeed he did (after the jump):
