A closer look at McLean, Texas

McLean, Texas

The Once Upon a Town project — a collaborative film effort that explores historic towns in Texas — recently completed an eight-minute film about the Route 66 community of McLean, Texas.

You’ll see longtime Route 66 advocate Delbert Trew interviewed, along with a lot of nice drone-aircraft footage of McLean.

The Devil’s Rope Museum in McLean — which also doubles as Texas’ Route 66 museum — also is featured prominently in the film.

  1. This is a very nice video. I’m sorry that I didn’t stay longer the last time I passed through McLean but I’ll make a point of it, next time I’m there. Those two museums are definitely on my itinerary

  2. I love trying to find out the history on some of the buildings the ones that there are no names or signs around them and there is 3 buildings there in McLean Texas one is now to be just cinder block building looks to be a old old gas station and the straight south from there on railroad at. Right there on the corner I heard it used to be a Restraunt truck stop on the west side there and the fallen down buing to the west there used to be a like small truck motel but can’t seem to figure none of them out I’ve been looking for years and years please help
