More than 1,300 miles of bad driving

A humongous weather system was wreaking havoc from Albuquerque to Chicago — basically along 1,300 miles of Route 66.

Blizzard conditions exist from east of Albuquerque to the Texas Panhandle. Interstate 40 remains closed at this hour from Albuquerque to just west of Amarillo — a distance of almost 300 miles.

Almost all of Oklahoma’s roads are slick and hazardous because of snow.

In Missouri and Illinois, widespread flooding has closed dozens of roads and even a few interstates. And parts of the mighty Mississippi River may see record-high levels in the coming days.
