New sculptures soon will grace Route 66 in Tulsa

New sculptures soon will be greenlighted by the Tulsa Arts Commission and installed along Route 66 in Tulsa.

KOKI-TV in Tulsa reports these artist’s renderings aren’t final, but are close..

First is a Route 66-inspired sculpture at the Admiral Traffic Circle that is Mingo Road and Admiral Place (aka Route 66).

The second is a group of sculptures at Howard Park, which is along Southwest Boulevard (aka Route 66) in southwest Tulsa.

The money for these projects will come form leftover Vision 2025 funds. Tulsa voters recently approved an extension of the sales tax from Vision 2025, called Vision Tulsa.

  1. I cannot believe the top one was chosen it is not artistically pleasing in the lease. It is sad that people with no talent are able to make a decision like that. Seriously was that decision made by one person or a group, if it was a group or board I would like to become a member.
