A long-ago chat with Juan Delgadillo at the Snow Cap Drive-In

Snow Cap Drive-In, Seligman, AZ

Anthony Reichardt recently posted another video from the early 1990s, when he and a pal drove Route 66 in a 1959 Cadillac.

In it, Reichardt chats with Juan Delgadillo, late owner of the Snow Cap Drive-In restaurant in Seligman, Arizona, who put away the gags and other practical jokes for a few minutes.

It’s interesting, because the video was shot in August 1993, shortly after the resurgence in interest in Route 66 because of the publication of Michael Wallis’ best-selling “Route 66: The Mother Road.”

As for the restaurant itself, little has changed, except for Delgadillo’s death in 2004 at age 88. His family is carrying on the great and long tradition of great diner food and lots of laughs.

More of Reichardt’s videos may be seen here on his 1959 Cadillac on Route 66 channel on YouTube.
