Developers of a Fuel 66 food-truck court offered a glimpse of the development along 11th Street (aka Route 66) in Tulsa.

KOKI-TV in Tulsa filed this report a few days ago:

The gist:

The court, taking over an old Boost Mobile store and nearby lot, is under construction. When opened, it will feature a full-service indoor bar, room for 6 food trucks, a pet-friendly space, a large biergarten and a covered patio.

The design for Fuel 66 definitely sports a retro, gas-station look.

The Tulsa World reported Fuel 66 could open in as soon as two months.

The food-truck court will be at 11th Street and Atlanta Avenue, east of downtown. Trucks at the site will pay 2 percent of their sales to Fuel 66’s owners. Most of the court’s profits will come from the beer sales. The owners will set up large television sets and movie screens for families, and the venue will be pet-friendly.

Food trucks have become trendy; Tulsa has seen a sprinkling of them for a decade — mostly in Mexican-American population.

But food trucks contain practical value, too — it’s a lower-cost way for a restaurateur to get started.

About 20 food trucks operate in Tulsa. With all the things Fuel 66 will offer, those truck operators will clamor to snag a space there.
