How to help Devil’s Elbow

It seems as if relief efforts have gotten more organized in recent days on how to help the flood-stricken Route 66 village of Devil’s Elbow, Missouri.

The Elbow Inn restaurant and bar already has a crowdfunding site, but it also provided a list of materials it needs to help rebuild.

If you live near the area and have a truck or big van to haul the materials you can donate, you might prove as useful to the Elbow Inn as a monetary donation. Here’s the list.

On a related note, “The Weekly Recap with Matt Wacker” from a local television station on spent a few minutes at the Elbow Inn after the disaster:

As for the rest of the town, a local church has stepped up to help residents in the rest of Devil’s Elbow.

First, you can mail a check, with the note “Devil’s Elbow Flood” in the memo line, to:

ChristMission Church
P.O. Box 1084
St Robert, MO 65584

You also can make a donation by credit card or PayPal through the church here. “Devil’s Elbow Flood” also should be in the special instructions field.

Dale Martin and Angie Hale are the administrators in distributing the funds.

A federal disaster declaration in parts of Missouri is expected after the record or near-record floods, but it hasn’t happened yet.
