Tally’s Good Food Cafe, a Tulsa Route 66 landmark for 30 years, is opening a second restaurant in the southern part of the city.
But dont’ worry — Tally’s will continue to operate at its Route 66’s 11th Street site at Yale Avenue.

The second Tally’s at 61st Street and Sheridan Avenue will use the same 1950s and Route 66-centric decor, along with the same menu. It will be managed by owner Tally Alame’s son. The Alames hope to have the second site open by Thanksgiving.
Tally’s Good Food Cafe became the de facto dining spot for many Route 66 travelers in Tulsa after the Metro Diner closed and was torn down nearly 10 years ago.
But in addition to its typically good stick-to-your-ribs fare — especially the chicken-fried steak — Alame serves free meals during the winter holidays, including Thanksgiving.
Alame is a native of Lebanon whose family sent him to America during the late 1970s to get him away from that Middle Eastern country’s civil war. He began working in restaurants all over Oklahoma and eventually bought a restaurant for sale called Mark and Mary’s at the current Tally’s site.

We, my family love Tally’s on route 66 in the south. Nothing can take away from the original Tally’s. I have family in OK C that love Tally’s.
