Globetrotter Lodge in Holbrook put up for sale

The owners of the Globetrotter Lodge in Holbrook, Arizona, announced Tuesday they have put the Route 66 motel up for sale after eight years there.

Peter and Mona Hoeller posted on Facebook:

WE ARE READY TO MOVE ON !

In 2010 we arrived from Europe in Holbrook and transferred an abandoned Motel into our nice GLOBETROTTER LODGE. We worked hard and got rewarded with many, many nice guests from all over the world.

Now, after 8 years, we are ready to move on and try something different somewhere else.
We had our up’s and down’s over the years, but we do not regret, that we came to the US.
It was a great experience, we found great friends and we enjoyed staying in the South West.
As you all know,we are a small, good standing family business with big potential.
If someone is interested in buying our Lodge, please feel free to contact us.

We keep on working of course and we want to thank all our guests for staying with us!

Mona Hoeller stated in an email the asking price for the property is $640,000 $598,000, but that is negotiable. The Globetrotter has 10 rooms for overnight travelers.

“We hope to get a buyer who likes Route 66 and all that comes with it, including unique, independent motels,” she added.

The extensive renovations of the motel nearly eight years ago are on its Facebook page. The Globetrotter consistently ranks high in online reviews, including No. 1 in the Holbrook area on TripAdvisor.com.
