Two people found slain in Bristow motel

Carolyn Inn

A man and a woman were found dead Sunday at the Carolyn Inn motel on Route 66 in Bristow, Oklahoma, according to several media outlets in the area, including KWTV.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation is treating the scene as a homicide. Dead were Jake Allen Wright, 19, and Ruth Ann Rex, 31,

The state Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating the cause of their deaths.

Anyone who knows Wright or Rex or has information that might assist police in the investigation is asked to call Bristow Police at 918-367-2252 or the OBSI at 1-800-522-8017.

The Carolyn Inn isn’t high on the radar of most Route 66 travelers and, indeed, the motel lately is rated poorly by customers over the past few years. It is a mom-and-pop motel, but it might be advisable to look for alternate lodging in the area.
