‘American Pickers’ filming on Route 66 in Oklahoma

American Pickers cast

Two of the cast members of the History Channel’s “American Pickers” reality show spent part of last week filming on Route 66 in Oklahoma, according to an article in the Grand Lake News and one of the star’s Instagram accounts.

The newspaper said Danielle Colby and Mike Wolfe of “American Pickers” dined at Waylan’s Ku Ku restaurant and stopped at the Route 66 Vintage Iron Motorcycle Museum — both of Miami, Oklahoma — on July 16.

“They called about 1 p.m.and wanted to know if we could accommodate about 15 people,” Waylan said. “They came in and ate first.”
She said the crew shot footage for about 15 minutes after eating lunch at the iconic Route 66 restaurant.
“They took longer eating lunch than filming,” she said with a chuckle. “Dad (Gene Waylan) would have liked to have put his new (Ford) Fairlane out front.”

Wolfe’s Instagram account also indicates he and Colby stopped at the Blue Whale in Catoosa, Oklahoma:

It probably will be months before the Route 66-based episodes air. You can watch episodes online here.
