Rickety Cricket Brewing of Kingman opens another site in Flagstaff

Rickety Cricketing Brewing Co. in historic downtown Kingman, Arizona, recently opened a new place along Route 66 about 150 miles away in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Rickety Cricket opened a new watering hole for its craft beer in the former State Bar at 10 W. Historic Route 66 in Flagstaff.

Rickety’s original location is 312 E. Beale St. in Kingman, just a block north of Route 66. Rickety Cricket also opened another site in Prescott, Arizona. Terry Thomson and his wife, Stacey, own the company.

More about what the brewery offers in Flagstaff from the Arizona Daily Sun:

The Flagstaff location offers 24 of the 28 beers brewed by the company — of which each is original to Rickety Cricket. And, on top of their more traditional beers, the business offers so-called boutique options; those include a cookies and cream milk stout, a milkshake IPA called Jaryllo IPA and, next month’s release, Mr. Beer-boto — a Japanese style IPA with red Szechuan peppers and ginger. […]
“In lieu of full-scale distribution, we’re trying get people more options of our beer styles in specific locations,” he said. “Flagstaff has a great beer following… it’s one of the places that people are really chasing the craft scene.”

Thomson also is an award-winning pizza maker. A perusal of the brewery’s website reveals pizzas called South Side Mo’s (a Chicago-style pie), Hot Mess (with fire-roasted jalapeno, serrano and red peppers), Southwest Style, Jersey Girl and Devil’s French Kiss (with ghost pepper cheese and habanero and serrano peppers).

And Thomson is not being overly gracious about Flagstaff being a great craft-beer town. For a town of less than 75,000 people, it boasts of Mother Road Brewing Co., Lumberyard Brewing Co., Beaver Street Brewery, Dark Sky Brewing, Wanderlust Brewing, Flagstaff Brewing and Historic Brewing Barrel + Bottle House as quality places to quaff a pint.
