Video uploaded about the history and restoration of Meadow Gold sign in Tulsa

Jack Frank, a fellow who specializes in historic-minded films and videos in Tulsa, recently uploaded a clip about the history and restoration of the Meadow Gold neon sign.

The video was created a few years before replicas of the clocks that hung atop the two-sided sign were returned to their rightful spots.

As a bonus, here’s a 1950s interview at a Tulsa television station with New York Yankees star Mickey Mantle. The future Baseball Hall of Fame member grew up in the Route 66 town of Commerce, Oklahoma, and cut his teeth at ballparks in nearby ballparks in Baxter Springs, Kansas, and Joplin, Missouri.

Dozens more films may be seen at Frank’s YouTube channel here.
