Redneck Nutz going into Uranus

Louie Keen, owner of Uranus Fudge Factory and General Store in St. Robert, Missouri, announced he acquired Redneck Nutz of Springfield, Missouri, and is moving its operations there.

Appropriately enough, both places have their roots on old Route 66.

Redneck Nutz confirmed the deal in a post on its Facebook page:

Keen also revealed the news the same day:

Keen on Facebook Messenger didn’t reveal the purchase price to Route 66 News but noted:

No name changes, but we will add more lines. Yes, Redneck Nutz in Uranus has been a long-running joke since we started carrying them in the store a few years ago. They reached out to me because they knew me and my dedication to creating high-quality products.

Redneck Nutz had this explanation of its business on its Facebook page:

Redneck Nutz seasons peanuts and cashews in great flavors (MSG and gluten-free) like AJ’s Sriracha & Garlic or Red Bubba’s BBQ and a fan favorite, Uncle Moe’s Puckerin Dill. We also carry a delicious line of chocolate-covered blueberries, cherries and cranberries. Plus, a big hit is our chocolate-covered roasted coffee beans. These sweets are available in a pouch or a gift-worthy mason jar. Have a hankerin’ for something even sweeter? Try Granny’s Fancy Maple Pecans or Wilma’s Maple Black Walnuts, made with pure maple syrup.

Redneck Nutz’s main location was at 2127 W. College St. (aka Route 66) in Springfield. The business launched in 2013.

As for Uranus, Keen once owned a strip club at the property but went family-friendly in 2015 with the fudge factory and has expanded his empire with a restaurant, outfitters store, shooting and archery ranges, a food-truck park, sideshow museum and an ax-throwing venue. Construction is ongoing for a microbrewery to open next.
