Historic auto parts store in Baxter Springs to reopen April 22 as Bricks and Brew restaurant

The century-old Bob Page Auto Supply building along Route 66 in Baxter Springs, Kansas, will reopen on April 22 as a Bricks and Brews restaurant.

KSNF-TV talked to the owner, Doug Puckett, who bought the building at 1531 Military Ave. (aka Route 66) two years ago and has been renovating it since:

The neat thing about this is that Puckett worked in the building in high school when it was an auto parts store.
Doug Puckett, Bricks and Brews Owner: “Since it was an auto parts store we kind of kept the automotive theme and route 66 and keep it automotive kind of theme.”

The video report is below:

According to an internet listing, Bob Page opened his business there in 1954 and closed it in 2016.

Going further back through the Newspapers.com archive, a Baxter Stove Co. operated there in 1921, then became a Hale Bros. Garage by 1925. County property records indicate the building was constructed there in 1900.
