David Brenner, owner of the Roadrunner Lodge Motel in Tucumcari, New Mexico, is featured in the latest video of KC Keefer’s Genuine Route 66 Life video series.

The Brenners, who hailed from Dallas, purchased the closed property in 2014, which at the time was called the Royal Inn. As David mentions, the complex once was two combined motels, one being the Leatherwood Manor and the other, La Plaza Court. La Plaza was built in 1947; the Leatherwood in 1964.
In part because of its architecture, Roadrunner tries to keep a 1960s vibe with the room decor while offering modern amenities. It consistently earns high ratings among online travel websites.
