New neon wall at Uranus Missouri will light up the evening of Sept. 25

The new neon-sign wall at the Uranus Missouri complex near St. Robert, Missouri, will hold a ceremonial lighting ceremony at 8 p.m. Sept. 25.

On a related note, Uranus also expanded its empire by acquiring a prominent candy store in Indiana and will convert it into a second location. More on that later.

Uranus owner Louie Keen announced the completion of the 20-by-55-foot neon wall Friday. It basically is a large Route 66 map with a bunch of elements, including a Route 66 shield, a rocket ship, Roy’s of Amboy, Blue Swallow Motel, Blue Whale, Cadillac Ranch, Wigwam Motel and Ted Drewes Frozen Custard.

Here are social media posts about the wall:

Uranus Missouri already has a huge and elaborate neon sign it installed about three years ago.

As for Uranus’ second location, it acquired Good’s Candy Shop in Anderson, Indiana, which is about 40 miles northeast of Indianapolis.

The Herald Bulletin of Anderson in a report picked up by Yahoo! News said former owner Randy Good didn’t disclose a sale price for his shop.

I picked Uranus because of their complete understanding and commitment to high-quality products and impressive guest services,” said Good in a press release.
Uranus, located on historic Route 66 between Saint Louis and Springfield in Missouri, plans to open its second location in the Hoosier state on Jan. 1, 2022. […]
Keen said they plan to keep Good’s employees and expand the business.
“We will also be hiring a lot more people and our pay and benefits packages for all our team are hard to beat,” Keen said In a Facebook post about the purchase of Good’s.
Keen said Uranus will continue crafting the well-known, fine chocolates and super premium ice cream products Good’s sells in addition to Uranus fudge and other products at the new location.
“We have been looking for our #2 for quite a while, and we were very lucky to have found this opportunity with Randy Good and Good’s Candy Shop”, Keen said in the press release. “With all of their production and manufacturing capabilities, along with their years of experience and knowledge, this acquisition will truly accelerate our growth plans nationally.”

Uranus Missouri also acquired Redneck Nutz of Springfield, Missouri, last year.

Uranus Missouri includes a creamery, escape room, sideshow museum, ax-throwing venue, world’s largest belt buckle and its now-infamous fudge factory. Forthcoming are a brewery and a miniature golf course.
