A bit of holiday cheer from the Mother Road

It’s Christmas Eve, and what better way to get into the holiday spirit than to see a few examples of great holiday decor than from Route 66?

First, the Devil’s Elbow Bridge in Devil’s Elbow, Missouri, which has been decorated each Christmas season for nearly a decade:

Next is the Blue Whale of Catoosa, Oklahoma, which has been decorated each holiday season since 2010:

The old steam locomotive at Route 66 Village in Tulsa:

The annual hubcap tree at Enchanted Trails RV Park in Albuquerque:

The plaza in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico, near the 1926-1938 alignment of Route 66:

And this small bit of levity from El Reno, Oklahoma:

Merry Christmas, everyone.
