Best place to two-step on Route 66?

If you ask folks in the high, high desert town of Flagstaff (7,000 feet elevation) that question, chances are good they will say the Museum Club on Route 66.

Arizona Daily Sun readers recently voted it the best for dancing in the Best of Flagstaff. I’ve been in the Museum Club but, regrettably, never during a live country-music show. The only way I can describe its unique decor and notable history would be to combine the front lobby of the El Rancho Hotel in Gallup and Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa.

The Museum Club underwent a recent change in ownership, as explained here. I doesn’t sound like the new proprieters have any plans to change the place much, nor would they want to. That’s good news to Route 66 travelers who want have a cold one to slake their thirst and soak in the atmosphere — and to those who want to do some boot-scootin’.
