El Trovatore Motel’s grand re-opening starts Thursday

The grand re-opening of El Trovatore Motel in Kingman, Ariz., begins Thursday and ends Sunday with special room rates of $7.66 a night on a no-reservations, first-come, first-serve basis, plus other specials.

According to the motel’s news release:

We reached this room rate of $7.66 since originally when the El Trovatore was first opened in 1939, the rate of a luxury room was $3.50. Since we are having a second grand opening, we decided to double the original price and added the 66 cents since El Trovatore is directly on Route 66 in the heart of Kingman, Ariz.

Also, a new shuttle bus will be launched into service at $7.66 each way from El Trovatore to Laughlin, Nev., and back to El Trovatore Motel. You can visit us at ElTrovatoreMotel.com or call 928-753-6520, the home of the 100-foot vertical neon tower sign.

The special room rates over the weekend include themed rooms that feature Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, John Wayne, Audrey Hepburn, Marlin Brando, Clark Gable, Humphry Bogart, Andy Devine, James Dean and more.

Owner Sam Frisher used the business as apartments for years, but decided to take the motel back to overnight travelers. He restored the motel’s tower sign and its original neon sign next to Route 66.

  1. That is SO cool, the way they came up with the rate. Wish I was there now, instead of Sept. Good Luck with the grand re-opening!
