Highway Hot Dog has opened along Route 66 in the century-old building that was once known as Historic Seligman Sundries in Seligman, Arizona.
The recent opening of the restaurant at 22395 W. Old Highway 66 was announced in a post on the Doing Life in Seligman Facebook page.
It specializes in all-beef hot dogs and a few sandwiches. It also serves espresso, cappuccino and gelato.
The restaurant stated on its Facebook page that its opening was so popular, it ran out of some items.

Highway Hot Dog is open seven days a week — from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The building was built in 1904 as the Pioneer Hall and Theatre, according to Route 66 Times. Ted’s Famous Malts operated there starting in 1930, and it also served as a theater and dance hall.
Frank and Lynn Kocevar operated Historic Seligman Sundries for a number of years until they sold it, though they still create a video Christmas card that is posted on this website annually.

They did a great job. Long time Seligman residents. Good additional attraction on 66. Despite inflation airplane rides are still $5.
