Television personality Kevin O’Leary, aka Mr. Wonderful, best known for the “Shark Tank” TV reality show, recently showed up at the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo to try the restaurant’s famed 72-ounce steak dinner challenge.
It’s probably no surprise that O’Leary did not finish the steak dinner in an hour to get it for free.
Only about 10% of those who attempt the Big Texan challenge accomplish it. It costs $72 if you don’t.
As mentioned in one of the videos, the Big Texan started on Amarillo Boulevard (aka Route 66) in Amarillo.
After Interstate 40 opened in the early 1970s, the Big Texan picked up and moved there to ensure its survival.
