Reaching out across the pond

The Illinois Times published an interesting report about the state's efforts to boost tourism despite a poor economy. The article includes this excerpt on a novel way that Illinois has reached out to Route 66 travelers who live in Great Britain: They’ve also found that the British have an interest in the 1960s and authentic … Continue reading Reaching out across the pond

Touting Tucumcari

This is a promotional video created by the Tucumcari-Quay County Chamber of Commerce in Tucumcari, N.M. It touts the town's Route 66 heritage and other attractions. It's an excellent video ... every bit as good what I've seen from much bigger cities.

An article in the Las Vegas Review-Journal about the Route 66 town of Kingman, Ariz., contains a lot of interesting material about tourism attractions in the town and in the surrounding area.
