The Route 66 Days festival in Strafford, Mo., is seeking arts-and-crafts and other vendors during the event on Sept. 9, according to the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader. The rates for tables are pretty reasonable, too.

Interesting nuggets from the 2008 festival

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's story about the Route 66 Preservation Foundation's annual festival in 2008 in Edwardsville contained a couple of interesting new items: O'Reilly Auto Parts, based in the Route 66 town of Springfield, Mo., will be a partner in that festival. The 2010 festival will tentatively be in Joliet, Ill.

Town plays up Route 66 connection

Wilmington, Ill., is trying to generate more business into its downtown area. So not only was one Web site created that hypes up the town's link to Route 66, but two, reports the Joliet Herald News. One Web site is www.route66wilmington.com. The other is a MySpace site, found here. (Hat tip to Lynn "Lulu" Bagdon.)
