Using our favorite road as a bit of inspiration, the Lincoln-Logan County Chamber of Commerce in Illinois is compiling a list of “66 Things You Won’t See Anywhere Else” for an upcoming brochure, reports the Lincoln Courier.
“If you know of any odd or obscure, weird or wacky, historic or quirky attractions that are unique to Logan County and should be included in this new pamphlet, please call or e-mail the chamber office,” said Bobbi Abbott, director of the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce. […]
Abbott said the brochure will give a nod to both Logan County’s Route 66 heritage and to a new trend in promoting a community’s roadside oddities.
“We have had people stop here because they heard Abraham Lincoln played baseball in Postville Park,” she said. “We want to bring more attention to Logan County with an expanded list.
“It will have enough sense of humor that it will be fun to read, as well as providing a guide for touring.”
It would help if Logan County consults the considerable database of these guys.
