Six buddies on Route 66

This video about six friends traveling from Chicago to San Francisco is as professionally shot as anything I’ve seen. For best effect, watch it on full-screen.

Friendship Tour 2013 // Route 66 // Chicago – San Francisco // 3. Teil from Dennis Jagusiak on Vimeo.

It was shot and edited by Dennis Jagusiak of Germany, who obviously doesn’t do just wedding photography well.

  1. Fun to watch. This is labeled part 3 and certainly looks like the western stretch of 66. I’m going to look for parts 1 and 2 and will let you know if I find them.

  2. It’s our constant complaint, isn’t it, Laurel? It’s still too easy for first time visitors to miss large bits of Historic 66 in Oklahoma and accidentally travel State Highway 66, following current maps and thinking they’ve seen the Route while actually missing all the good stuff along the Old Road. Just this past Saturday I ran up 66 to the Nut House to do some Christmas shopping and coming back to Tulsa realized that there are still no signs to direct travelers at that confusing spot right outside of Catoosa by the Hard Rock Resort. All the new 66 signage through Tulsa, the Tulsa Gateways, the $2 million Cyrus Avery statue, and other initiatives to boost 66 tourism in Tulsa won’t do us much good if west bound travelers still lose the Route once they’ve past Blue Whale. If I hadn’t known where I wanted to go I would have continued on the road as it goes through Catoosa and ended up on the Insterstate myself. We’ve got to get some GIANT directional signs out there. And that’s just to protect about 25 miles of 66. There are 375 more that need to be better marked.
