Professional eaters to compete in fudge-eating competition at Uranus Missouri

Uranus Missouri, no stranger to novel ways to promote the complex, has a new one in store this month — the inaugural Eating Uranus Fudge Galactic Championship at 1 p.m. March 30 featuring a host of competitors from the Major League Eating circuit.

The contest will take place at Uranus Fudge Factory and General Store at 14400 Highway Z (aka Route 66) in St. Robert, Missouri. Admission is free.

The competitor who has consumed the most chocolate fudge from Uranus in eight minutes will be crowned the Eating Uranus Fudge Galactic Champion.

The champion will not only claim the title but set an inaugural world record and earn $2,500 in cash prizes.

Louie Keen, the so-called Mayor of Uranus Missouri, noted the Eating Uranus Fudge competition field holds over 70 world records.

Keen said he was “excited to be able to show off Uranus on an international stage through such a great competition and big-name competitors”

A total of 14 professional eaters are set to compete, including:

  • No. 2-ranked Geoffrey Esper from Oxford, Massachusetts
  • No. 3-ranked Miki Sudo from Tampa, Florida
  • No. 4-ranked Nick Wehry from Tampa, Florida
  • No. 4-ranked James Webb from Sydney, Australia
  • No. 6-ranked Gideon Oji from Morrow, Georgia

Longtime readers probably will remember Sudo from when she devoured two 72-ounce steak dinners in an hour at the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo. She also participated in a corndog eating contest at the Clowndog Hot Dog Parlor in Albuquerque as part of Mobil 1’s “Keep Route 66 Kickin'” tour in 2022.

Sudo also won the women’s division in the infamous Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest every year from 2014 to 2020.
