The grand reopening of the historic Magic Lamp Inn restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga, California, after it hosted an invitation-only event earlier this month.
The Route 66 establishment, famous for its neon sign in the shape of an Aladdin lamp that features a genuine flame from its spout, closed in early 2023.
Its website set up a sign-up spot where users will be the first to know of the grand reopening date and other promotions.
One person was lucky enough to get into the restaurant during its soft opening earlier this month.
Here are some other people who shot some photos of the interior and exterior:
For now, the Magic Lamp Inn is open to customers by reservation only, which can be made at the booking website OpenTable.
The Press-Enterprise reports the restaurant was fully renovated over the last 18 months.
When it’s fully opened, the restaurant will have a new indoor/outdoor patio behind the main building serving a separate menu, according to staff.
The restaurant was founded in 1955 by John Clearman, who specialized in themed steakhouses such as his North Woods Inns, which were built like snow-topped log cabins and are still open in San Gabriel, West Covina and La Mirada.
Later, it was owned by Sartaj Singh, who also owned Antonino’s Ristorante Italiano on Vineyard Avenue. He died in 2022.
Singh owned the Magic Lamp Inn for about 10 years at the time of his death.
