Texas Old Route 66 Association announces first batch of small business outdoor beautification matching grants

The Texas Old Route 66 Association recently announced its inaugural group of recipients of its Small Business Outdoor Beautification Matching Micro-Grant Program.

Five businesses along Texas Route 66 were given $500 gatching grants for exterior improvements, beautification projects, signage, restoration efforts and visitor experience enhancements.

The awardees were:

  • Cactus Inn Motel, McLean, for an outdoor gathering area
  • Midpoint Cafe & Gift Shop, Adrian, new exterior wall signs
  • Moonshine Motorsports Museum, Shamrock, outdoor signs and lighting
  • Old Tascosa Brewing Co., Amarillo, facade sign restoration
  • Devils Rope & Texas Route 66 Museum, McLean, exterior south wall painting and mural project

“We are already planning future grant initiatives and additional opportunities to continue investing in the businesses, destinations and communities that help preserve and promote Historic Route 66 in Texas,” the association stated in a Facebook post.
