A tavern in Bernalillo, New Mexico, that dates to Prohibition has been put on the market for $610,000.
According to Albuquerque Business First, Denise Silva, 68-year-old owner of Silva’s Saloon and granddaughter of its founder, said health issues are forcing the sale.
The same family has owned it for more than 90 years. It’s reputedly the oldest still-operating bar in New Mexico.
The 3,500-square-foot bar at 955 S. Camino Del Pueblo (aka Route 66) includes a liquor license and a half-acre lot.

Opened in 1933, the historic Route 66 landmark has become more than a neighborhood bar. It’s a destination known for its rich history, unique memorabilia, and generations of loyal patrons. The owners say they’re hoping to find a buyer who will preserve its legacy while writing the next chapter.

Silva’s Saloon sits on the 1926-37 alignment of Route 66, known as the Santa Fe Loop, actually dating the bar to when the Mothe Road ran by its front door.
