Comic book takes place on Route 66

The San Bernardino County Sun reports that there’s a new comic book available at California Welcome Centers, titled “Dinosaurs Across Route 66.”

Here’s the plot summary:

“Dinosaurs Across Route 66” tells the story of Patrick Rabbit, a school-hating, guitar-playing bunny who travels west on Route 66, intent on making it big in Hollywood.

Unfortunately for him, his driver is an enthusiastic teacher, Mrs. Mills, who insists on turning the trip into an educational tour, stressing art and literacy.

In stops along the way, she introduces him to the homelands and legacies of such influential writers and artists as Harriet Beecher Stowe, Mark Twain and Georgia O’Keeffe.

Plus, the two travelers are shadowed by that flying car full of dinosaurs, who also happen to be great promoters of literacy. In fact, their motto is “Read. Avoid Extinction.”

“Dinosaurs Across Route 66” is the brand-new sequel to the popular “Dinosaurs Across America,” by Yeh and collaborator Lieve Jerger, which has sold almost 200,000 copies.

You can see what the cover looks like and order your own copy here. More about the comic’s creator, Phil Yeh, is here.

I dunno how much actual Route 66 content there is, given the description. But it might be worth checking out.
