Tulsa art deco film airs tonight

If you live in or are traveling northeastern Oklahoma on Tuesday night, you may want to tune into KTUL-TV on Channel 8. That’s when the station premieres Jack Frank‘s latest Tulsa historical film, “Tulsa Deco.”

Frank has produced two other acclaimed films about Tulsa’s past, with much of the material coming from home movies or long-forgotten archival footage.

“Tulsa Deco,” which airs at 7 p.m. today, concentrates on Tulsa’s impressive art deco architecture. On Route 66, that includes the 11th Street Bridge, the Tulsa Monument Co. Building, and the Warehouse Market Building. The Tulsa Preservation Commission has a good inventory of the city’s art deco buildings here.
