Bike Across Missouri is hosting a Big BAM event on Route 66 in the Show-Me State to commemorate the highway’s centennial on Sept. 4-10.
The event will begin in Joplin and end in Eureka, just outside of St. Louis, reported the Joplin Globe. It includes stops in Willard, Lebanon, Wayneville, Rolla and Cuba.
This is the the third time it will follow Route 66; that also happened in 2018 and 2022, said Todd White, director.
“We’re expecting 300,” he said of the number of riders this year. “That’s what we’re capping it at. We have 66 signed up already.” […]
Presented by Missouri Life Magazine, the ride is also being supported by the cities of Joplin, Willard, Lebanon, Waynesville, Rolla, Cuba and Pulaski County Tourism.
Prices start at $450 and include camping fees, access to a shower trailer, baggage transfer and mechanical support. Meals and hotels aren’t included.
The event offers a three-day ride — from Joplin to Wayneville — in addition to the full six-day ride.
