A large neon sign that welcomes travelers on Route 66 in Albuquerque was lit for the first time a few days ago.
KOB-TV in Albuquerque produced video of the lighting ceremony.
The sign, created by Zeon Signs in Albuquerque, is 25 feet long and double-sided. It’s on Central Avenue (aka Route 66) near Tramway on the city’s far east side.
The sign was funded by a $328,800 Destination Forward grant from New Mexico Tourism.
