A “Cars” collage
Kutz63 has posted on YouTube a collage of scenes from "Cars" with Sheryl Crow's "Real Gone," which is part of the original soundtrack. It's a nice way to relive some of the scenes from the film. SPOILER ALERT: A few of the scenes might reveal too much of the plot. So if you haven't seen … Continue reading A “Cars” collage

Here's a short clip on YouTube of Harley and Annabelle Russell, aka the Mediocre Music Makers, performing "Route 66" at their Sandhills Curiosity Shop in Erick, Okla. Spirit of Aviatrix Ballroom revived
Carlton Scales, a former big-band leader, started the Aviatrix Ballroom on Route 66 in Amarillo, Texas, in 1939. The venue drew such performers as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Jimmy Dorsey. Sadly, the Aviatrix closed in 1988 after business dwindled for years. Music break
The good folks at the Annees Vinyl site have posted two interesting musical slide shows on YouTube. One is of the Rolling Stones performing "Route 66" on what sounds like a mid-1960s British radio show. Accompanying the music are photos of sights along the road. The other Route 66 slideshow has Nat King Cole, also … Continue reading Music break
Dark side of the road
The music isn't all that catchy, nor uplifting. But this music video shot by Giuseppe Cristiano for J Crist's composition "Route 66" seems to evoke the dread and depression of the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, even though sharp-eyed roadies will recognize sights from modern-day Route 66.
