Laura Meyer sings a song, "The Road," parked in her car off Route 66 in Tucumcari, N.M. She'd just finished a show in Kansas City and was heading back to Los Angeles for another gig. According to her MySpace site, she has an album coming out next month.

A YouTube poster named Valvagia makes crude animation videos of a stick character named Mr. Man. Valvagia just posed Mr. Man's interpretation of John Mayer's version of "Route 66." Be on the lookout for the lighter scene.

Offstage, Jackson Browne performs one of his best-known songs, "Take It Easy," with longtime collaborator David Lindley on fiddle.
Rocking Rockinghams
The sound's a bit muddy, but this rockabilly version of "Route 66" by The Rockinghams is quite good. It's also worth seeing just to see one guy cutting a rug in the middle of the video.
