The Disney Parks Blog on Friday released some of the food offerings that are coming to the Cars Land amusement park inside Disney California Adventure Park.
Cars Land is inspired by the fictional Route 66 town of Radiator Springs, as shown in the Disney-Pixar films “Cars” and “Cars 2.” Here are the real-life inspirations to Radiator Springs.
Flo’s V8 Cafe will offer sit-down meals “inspired by the kitschy roadside eateries along Route 66.” For breakfast, among the dishes it will serve include chicken tamale with scrambled eggs, salsa verde and pico de gallo; or brioche French toast served with salted caramel and bananas. For lunch, among the dishes it will offer are veggie-tater casserole with roasted veggies, bulgur wheat, Boca Crumbles (a vegetarian hamburger substitute) and smashed red skin potatoes topped with melted cheddar, along with apple-cheddar and cherry pies for dessert.
The Cozy Cone Motel, inspired by the historic Wigwam Motels along Route 66 in Holbrook, Ariz., and Rialto, Calif., will serve cone-shaped dishes at each cone-shaped cabin. One dish is “chile cone carne.” Another is “cone on the cob.” Another cone-shaped cabin will serve flavored popcorn, including salt and vinegar, pickle, sweet and spicy, bacon and cheddar, and nacho cheese.
Fillmore’s Taste-In, as befits a Volkswagen minibus that advocates organic and clean living, will offer fresh fruit, bottled beverages, and juices.
The Disney Parks Blog promises more details in the coming days.
Cars Land is scheduled to open to the public on June 15.
