Ike’s Chili of Tulsa soon will make an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show”

Ike’s Chili, a stalwart of Tulsa dining for more than a century, soon will make an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

Len Wade, the owner of the Route 66 restaurant, stated in a Facebook post the show’s producers will fly him to New York City as part of a contest between Ike’s and two other chili restaurants in the country as part of the “Battle of the Bites” series.

Wade initially said on a Facebook post the show would tape the segment on March 9, but later in a comment thread the date has been rescheduled to another to-be-determined time.

Here’s an Oklahoma Tourism video about Ike’s:

Ike’s Chili started in downtown Tulsa in 1908.

Ike’s has occupied 1503 and 1509 E. 11th St. (aka Route 66) since 2013. Previously, it was on Admiral Place, an older alignment of Route 66, since 1966 and had operated in other parts of the city before that.
