The Texas Old Route 66 Association announced this week that The Road Crew music group will perform on Oct. 1 at the pre-party of the association’s 2026 Motor Tour in Shamrock, Texas.
The fifth annual Route 66 Motor Tour will take place on Oct. 2-3, 2026, during the highway’s centennial.
The Nashville-based group, called “America’s Route 66 Band,” plays a mix of classic country and rock songs, plus their own original tunes, including this one:
The Road Crew consists of Woody Bomar, Joe Loesch, Jason Harmon and Don King. The group formed not long after Loesch and Bomar did a Route 66 trip in 2005 and decided to write a song about the experience.
The group has played at numerous Route 66 gatherings and events over the past two decades.
