The State Historical Society of Missouri recently uploaded onto YouTube five videos documenting historic Route 66 in the Show-Me State.
Kathleen Seale, regional director of the Rolla and Springfield Research Centers of the historical society, stated:
Beginning at the Chain of Rocks Bridge over the Mississippi River in St. Louis, we traveled to the state line west of Joplin, to see the sights and meet the people along Missouri’s portion of the legendary road. We met people from every corner of Missouri and all over the United States, and many international tourists as well. We interviewed business owners, historic preservationists, fellow road trippers, Route 66 and car culture enthusiasts, and even a movie star along the way!
I just want to express my appreciation to the amazing people and communities we got to interact with along the way. It was a great trip and I am excited that we get to document a huge part of Missouri’s history this way.

All told, the videos provide about 40 minutes of road-trip fun.
